Christmas snaps – with a personal touch

The Swedes have Christmas snaps when eating their herring. It is so easy to make your personal snaps. Here follows a few recipes.

“Cranberry Snaps”

  • 5 dl frozen or fresh cranberries
  • 3,5 dl aquavit
  • tbls of honey

Pour the aquavit over the cranberries. Leave to stand for 1 week. Take away the cranberries (keep in the freezer, can come in handy for a nice cake). Pour back into bottle adding the honey. Keep in the fridge.

“Lemon snaps”

  • The rind of 1 lemon
  • 3,5 dl aquavit
  • 1 tbls of honey

Place the lemon rind into the bottle. Leave to stand for 3 days. Take out the lemon rind. Add the honey. Keep in the fridge.
