Toffee and chocolate tart

Tart base

  • 75 gr butter
  • 1/2 dl icing sugar
  • 200 gr of digestive (or any other kind of biscuits)

Melt butter with sugar. Crush the biscuits (put into an airtight bad and use a rolling-pin to crush) and mix with butter and sugar. Butter a tart tin with loose base. Press in the biscuit mix and leave in a cool place.

Toffee filling

  • 4 dl condensed sweet milk
  • 1/2 dl sugar
  • 75 gr butter

Put everything in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Let it simmer for approx 6 minuter (keep an eye on it at all time). It should thicken. Leave to cool for a while. Then pour into tart base. Leave again to cool in fridge.

Chocolate filling

  • 200 gr of dark chocolate (break the bar into pieces while the wrapping is still on)
  • 1 1/2 dl double cream
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 40 gr butter

Put everything into a saucepan. Stir all together and make sure chocolate melts.  Leave to set for a few minutes. Pour chocolate on top of toffee filling and leave to set again in fridge. Serve with whipped cream.
